Papped Terms of Service

Last updated: 5 August 2026

These terms govern your use of Papped, the service at papped.co that lets event organizers collect photos, and short video clips where the organizer turns them on, from guests, delivered to the organizer's own Google Drive. By creating an event, joining one as a guest, or otherwise using Papped, you agree to these terms.

1. What Papped is

Papped gives an event a QR code. Guests scan it and take photos in their browser; each photo is automatically screened and delivered to the organizer's Google Drive, and appears in a shared gallery guests can view and download during the event and for 30 days after it ends. Photos pass through Papped; apart from a short review hold (maximum 48 hours), we do not store them.

An organizer can also switch on video clips: up to one minute each, recorded with sound, and capped at a set number per guest. Video is off by default. Clips are not screened automatically; each one goes into a pending folder in the organizer's Drive and reaches the shared gallery only when the organizer approves it by hand. Clips are separate from the photo pool, so a guest gets both. We never store clips at any point. Our Privacy Policy explains the data side: https://papped.co/privacy.

2. Accounts and roles

  • Organizers sign in with Google and connect a Google Drive. You are responsible for activity under your account and for keeping access to your Google account secure.
  • Co-organizers are invited by an organizer and get management access to that organizer's event. Anything requiring payment stays with the organizer who owns the event.
  • Guests do not create accounts. Guests use Papped under these terms by joining an event link.
  • You must be old enough to form a binding contract where you live to be an organizer.

3. Your photos and clips stay yours

  • Guests own the photos and clips they take. Organizers own and control them once delivered to their Drive.
  • You grant Papped a limited license to receive, screen, hold for review where flagged, and deliver photos (including any sticker, frame, or watermark a guest applied on their device before upload), and to serve gallery views from the organizer's Drive. That license exists solely to run the service and ends when the processing does. We claim no other rights to your photos.
  • The same limited license covers video clips and the audio recorded with them: receiving a clip, passing it to the organizer's Drive, holding it there for the organizer's approval, generating the small preview frames the review queue and gallery need, and streaming it back to authorized viewers. Nothing more. We do not use clips or their audio to train AI models.
  • Papped itself (the software, brand, and design) belongs to us. We grant organizers and guests a limited, non-transferable right to use it for its intended purpose.

4. Responsibility for content

  • The person who uploads a photo or records a clip is responsible for it. By uploading, a guest confirms they have the right to share it and that it does not violate section 5.
  • Organizers are responsible for their event: telling attendees that photos and clips taken through Papped are shared with the organizer and visible in the event gallery, and complying with any consent or notice rules that apply to photographing people at their event and in their jurisdiction.
  • An organizer who switches video on takes on more than that. Clips record sound, and recording someone's voice is regulated more strictly than photographing them in a number of places. Deciding whether video is appropriate at your event, and giving attendees whatever notice or consent your jurisdiction requires for recording them and their audio, is yours. Video is off until you turn it on.
  • Papped screens photo uploads automatically and gives organizers review and delete controls. Clips are not screened automatically at all; the organizer's approval is the only gate. Either way we do not pre-approve content and are not its publisher.

5. Acceptable use

Do not use Papped to upload or share content that is illegal, sexually explicit, depicts minors inappropriately, harasses or threatens anyone, infringes someone else's rights, or contains malware. Do not probe, overload, scrape, or interfere with the service, resell it, or use it to spam. We may remove content, suspend an event, or terminate an account that breaks these rules, and we may notify authorities where the law requires it.

6. Screening and review

  • Photos are screened automatically. Clearly violating photos are rejected. Borderline photos are held, encrypted, for the organizer to approve or reject; unreviewed holds are deleted after 48 hours.
  • Clips are reviewed by a person, never by a machine. Every clip waits in a pending folder in the organizer's own Drive and appears in the shared gallery only once the organizer approves it. Rejecting a clip deletes it from their Drive permanently. Because the clip is already in the organizer's Drive while it waits, the organizer can watch it before deciding, and a clip left unreviewed simply stays pending rather than expiring.
  • Guests can report a photo or clip in the gallery; reported items are hidden immediately pending the organizer's review.
  • The organizer is the final judge of what belongs at their event. Screening is a safety net, not a guarantee: no automated system catches everything, it does not run on video at all, and we are not liable for content that gets through before it is removed.

7. Payments, pool, and refunds

Events up to a published guest count run free of charge. Everything else is paid before the event.

  • Pricing is per event and shown before you pay. Payments are processed by Dodo Payments as merchant of record: they charge your card, issue the invoice, and handle payment-related taxes. We never see your card details.
  • Price is set by guest band, not per guest: your guest count falls into a band, and every event in that band pays the same price. The price you are shown at checkout is the price you are charged. Rates vary by event type (personal, student, corporate) and by country, and verified student and corporate rates require an eligible email address.
  • Your guest count is your own estimate and we do not police it. Going over it does not trigger an automatic charge and never blocks a guest; the photo pool is the only hard limit.
  • What you buy is capacity: an event's photo pool is the maximum number of photos your guests can develop, not a count you are promised to consume. An event that uses less than its pool has still received the service.
  • Clips are not bought from the photo pool and do not consume it. They are limited per guest by the number you set, and they are limited in practice by the free space in your own Google Drive, which is yours to manage. Running out of Drive space stops clips from being delivered; that is a limit of your Drive, not a failure of the service, and it is not refundable.
  • No automated refunds. If something went genuinely wrong with your event, email support@papped.co and a human will look at it. Exceptions are at our discretion and this does not limit any rights consumer law gives you that cannot be waived.
  • Top-ups (adding photos to a live event) are charged the same way and follow the same rules.

8. Google Drive

Delivery depends on your Google Drive connection. We use Google's drive.file scope, so Papped can only create and manage its own event folders in your Drive. If you disconnect Drive, revoke access, or your Google account becomes unavailable, delivery stops until it is reconnected; photos and clips already delivered are unaffected because they live in your Drive, not with us. Your use of Google Drive is governed by Google's own terms.

Video makes this connection matter more, so it is worth being blunt: clips are large, roughly 19 MB a minute each, and they occupy your Drive storage from the moment they upload, including while they are still waiting for your approval and including ones you later reject. Keeping enough space free is yours to do. Gallery playback streams from your Drive, so if the connection breaks, existing clips stop playing until it is restored.

9. Availability and beta

Papped is a young product. We aim for it to work flawlessly during your event, but we provide the service "as is" and do not promise uninterrupted availability, and features may change. If we ever discontinue Papped, photos already delivered stay in your Drive.

10. Liability

To the maximum extent the law allows: we are not liable for indirect or consequential losses, or for the content guests upload; and our total liability for anything arising out of the service is capped at the amount you paid us for the event concerned, or USD 50 if you paid nothing. Nothing in these terms excludes liability that cannot legally be excluded.

11. Ending things

  • Organizers can cancel an unlaunched event (its data is removed immediately) or end a running event at any time; ended events are purged on the schedule in our Privacy Policy.
  • We can suspend or terminate access for breach of these terms, with notice where practical. Sections that by nature survive (content responsibility, liability, payments) survive termination.

12. Changes to these terms

We may update these terms as the product evolves. We will update the date above and flag meaningful changes to organizers by email. Continuing to use Papped after a change means you accept it.

13. Law and disputes

These terms are governed by the laws of India, and disputes belong to the courts of Bengaluru, India.
