Pap Coins and checkout
Pap Coins are credit against future events. You earn them by running paid events and by referring other organizers, and you spend them at checkout.
Where to see your balance
Top right of your events list, next to your email address, as a small Pap Coins chip. Opening the account menu there shows the same number with a bit more room.
What a coin is worth
50 coins is $1. They are only usable inside Papped; there is no cash-out.
Earning them
- 5% back on every paid event. When a payment goes through you get 5% of it back in coins, with a small minimum so a tiny event still earns something rather than nothing.
- 150 coins when a referral runs their first paid event, which is $3, and the person you referred gets the same. See refer and earn.
Free events do not earn coins. There is no payment to take a percentage of.
Spending them
Coins apply automatically at checkout, on the payment step when you launch a paid event. You do not enter a code or opt in, and there is nothing to click: the discount is already in the total you are shown.
One rule worth knowing: coins can cover at most half of any one checkout. A large balance does not make an event free; it takes half off, and the rest carries forward to the next event. That keeps a balance useful across several events instead of being spent all at once.
Checkout itself
You pay once per event, before it goes live. There is no subscription, and no card is stored. Payment is handled by our payment provider on their own page, so your card details never touch Papped.
Events up to 5 guests never reach checkout at all. See creating an event for what makes an event paid.
Your event can earn coins too
The shared gallery invites guests to start their own event. When one of them
does, and runs their first paid event, you both earn 150 Pap Coins ($3
off) - you because your event did the recruiting, they as a welcome. It
happens automatically; there is nothing to set up. One reward per person you
recruit, and if they signed up with someone's referral code instead, the code
wins - nobody is rewarded twice for the same signup.
